The Way's Mission
The purpose and intent of The Way is to renew a community to Christian faith, commitment and action. The community may be a home, church or a geographic region. Renewal begins with the individual by either being “born again” by the Spirit of Jesus Christ indwelling them for the first time, or by revival of the Spirit of an individual through Spiritual maturity.

Pine Lake Retreat Center, Groveland, FL was established in the 1950’s as Groveland Academy. Mr. Bernie Sheffield the founder felt called by God to move from Tennessee to Florida to establish a Christian Academy. Finances were lacking but his faith was not. Bernie partnered with God and started Groveland Academy to educate young people for nearly 30 years. In 1994, the facility was donated to be used as a Retreat Center, where people can come enjoy the peacefulness of the grounds and encounter God.
The Way is hosting the men and women’s weekend retreats at Pine Lake Retreat Center, beginning October 2021. We are excited to offer this 3-day retreat to Hernando, Pasco, Citrus and Lake counties. Come, enjoy the peacefulness, and be prepared to encounter God. The Way is an opportunity to spend 67 hours investing in yourself.

How Do I Attend?
A person who has attended a retreat weekend will sponsor you. Why Do I Need a Sponsor? Having a sponsor will allow you to attend your retreat weekend without the distractions of your every day life. Not only will they take care of everything for you, they will also be covering you in prayer during this very special time. |
